Arguably the best place to live in is Western Europe but presumably this is the beginning of the end of an era as we know it. The North European countries have a generous welfare system and high standard of living which will cost more and more to maintain and we`re seeing the cracks opening up.
“We live in a world of global competition for jobs” and “While house prices have slumped about 20 percent since a 2007 peak, wages haven’t dropped enough to restore competitiveness” indicate that European citizens must getting used to lower standard of living because of the increasing competition for the resources, goods and services.
